THRESHOLDS
“DARONI’s work”
“Thresholds are not chapters, they are passages. Each one is a wound opening into form, a scar becoming territory.
Between science and body, between cosmos and memory, the work unfolds as a journey: from chaos to scar, from the intimate to the infinite.”

THRESHOLD I | CHAOS & GENESIS
MÉXICO & ITALY (1998-2013)
Central Project: MORPHOGENESIS (Superstructure of Form)
The beginning of the journey—where chaos becomes genesis.
A project exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Mungia, Italy. Paintings, sculptures, and prints that gave birth to the book MORPHOGENESIS, first published in Italian and now available online in Spanish.

THRESHOLD II | TRANSIT & LIGHT
ITALIY (2011-2013)
Central Project: MORPHOGENESIS (Superstructure of Form)
Italy was a passage—a crossing between modernity and diaspora.
The movement from Mexico to Europe marked a threshold of searching and transformation.
The engravings within light boxes and the glass sculptures speak of transparency and fragility—of the need for form to breathe through light.
Here, the scar has not yet appeared; there is only a body in transit, opening itself to other languages, feeling its way through luminosity in order to survive uprootedness.

THRESHOLD III | FRAGMENTED ARCHITECTURE
NORWAY (2013-2017
Series: The Elements of the last minute, The key of the universe, Anthropomorphic Elements
"Threshold III marks the territory of decision and profound introspection.
Here, pain ceases to hide: wounds become visible—they turn into matter and color. Blue was the first to dominate, like an inner ocean where the wounds were revealed. From this introspective blue to the chromatic flare, the body becomes a living cartography: scar, gesture, and embodied memory."

Red burst forth as maximum entropy: the scar became visible, pain overflowed in chromatic intensity.
This threshold is a map of the body in transit—between wound and liberation.
THRESHOLD IV | THE BODY AS SCAR
NORWAY (2017-2025)
Central Project: The Body as Scar – Architecture of the Wound
Here, the wound is acknowledged and embodied. Color disappears—only black and white remain: plaster and carved wood as marked skin. The reliefs are scars, traces that do not conceal but proclaim the memory inscribed in the body.
This threshold is a living archive: paintings, prints, artist books, and AI-generated works intertwine as layers of a single expanded flesh. The scar becomes architecture—a shared language of dignity and repair. A map of memories that burn and breathe.
The body-scar becomes a living archive, where pain is transformed into form and fragility rises as strength. Here we understand that there is no creation without trace, no passage without imprint. Each line is a scar; each scar, the possibility of a new beginning.

THRESHOLD V | EMBODIED PERCEPTION
NORWAY 2025
Central Project: Embodied Perception
The fifth threshold is not a closure but a cosmic opening.
After the passage through chaos, genesis, fragmentation, and scar, Daroni unfolds a new horizon: perception as an embodied territory.
Here, the body is no longer merely an archive of pain, but also a laboratory of knowledge.
